Keeping in mind globalization tendencies and our geographical position, Panama has developed the infrastructure to complement the Panama Canal.
The result is a multimodal logistic center, which contemplates the combined use of SEA, LAND and AIR for the transportation of cargo. Panama is expected to become the region's principal multi-modal logistics center in coming years.
Approximately 13,000 vessels travel through the Canal every year, representing the foundation of our maritime commercial activity.
It has turned Panama into a first rate commercial center, making possible the shipment of goods to and from all parts of the world. In this sense, the use of the Canal transit route works well with our Duty Free Zone, the efficiency of our ports on both oceans, our railroad and highway facilities, and airports in the cities of Panama and Colon. |
