Authentication Process

All documentation intended for use in Panama, must be translated to Spanish by a registered translator. After translation is done, all official documents must be previously notarized by your Lawyer or a Public Notary in Canada and then, by the Department of Foreign Affairs here in Ottawa. Once this is done, you must bring these documents to have them authenticated at the Embassy of Panama in Ottawa. This process can take between three to four (3-4) business days. There is a fee of 30$US Dollars per document to be authenticated at this Consular Section at the Embassy. We only accept Money Orders payable to “Embassy of Panama, Consular Section”.
Please send a self-addressed envelope with postage included, if you use a courier, send a filled bill of landing with you account number.
